Reporting a calculation error

Corrections are the most useful thing you can send. To help us check a report quickly, please include:

  • Which calculator you were using (a link to the page is ideal).
  • The exact inputs you entered.
  • The result you got, and the result you expected.
  • Where the expected figure came from — your lender's statement, a payoff quote, another calculator, or your own working.

Every report is checked against the calculator's test suite. If it is an error, it gets fixed; if it is a difference in assumptions (how a partial month accrues interest, say), the assumption gets documented on the page. How that process works is described on the About page.

What we can't help with

We can't give personal financial advice. We are not licensed financial advisers, so we can explain how a calculator works and what its result means, but not tell you what to do with your own loan or savings. For that, talk to your lender or a qualified financial professional.

Please don't send account numbers, passwords or other sensitive financial details by email. We never need them.

Privacy

If you email us, we use your address and message only to reply. We don't add you to a mailing list or share your details. The full detail is in the privacy policy.
